Well, I feel better...

  1. LOL!!! I'm a former resident of Houston and lived through snow event there. It gets pretty drastic... staying off the road is actually a good safety measure ;)

  2. There are so many parts of the country that are brought to a standstill over a dusting (inch or less) of snow. They honestly just don't know how to drive in it, don't own "winter" clothes, have no shovels or any snow removal equipment for the streets--poor things! Up here in Fargo we have to deal with blizzards, flooding, tornadoes--but we would be like a fish out of water with a hurricane or an earthquake. That must be about how they feel. Just shouldn't be happening there. This did make me giggle, tho. ;)

  3. Rita, I live in one of those parts...we got 4" here in the desert and this area is pretty much shut down. But, it'll be back in the 60's next week and life will resume. This place doesn't even own snow plows.

  4. Good Lord! 4 inches of snow in the desert? What is the world coming to! I'd just go out and throw snowballs. :):)

  5. Haha, in 2000 the mayor of Toronto, Mel Lastman called the army into Toronto, for a grand total of 80cm (just over three inches) of snow. Toronto's never exactly earned back its damaged reputation ;)
